The Academy Unviels Shortlist for Best Visual Effects

Earlier today, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences officially released their shortlist of contenders for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.  The list includes The Dark Knight Rises, Life of Pi, Cloud Atlas, Marvel’s The Avengers, and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  The list is comprised of some great work from top to bottom, with the exception of one or two movies.  Historically, a film with serious Best Picture chances walks away with the Oscar for Best Visual Effects (Hugo, Titanic, Gladiator, Return of the King, Avatar, Inception).  At the moment, the only film on the list garnering enough attention for Best Picture is Ang Lee’s Life of Pi.  Hit the jump to check out the full list. Final Trailer For Django Unchained – Plus Soundtrack Info

The final trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained has officially hit the web.  There isn’t much new footage in the trailer, but there are gunshots galore mixed with few new dialogue one-liners.  The trailer also features a different style of music than what has played in previous trailers with Rick Ross’ “100 Black Coffins” playing over the footage.  I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am for this movie.  Along with the new trailer, the full soundtrack listing has been included.  Hit the jump to check out the trailer and read the full press release from The Weinstein Co. and Loma Vista Recordings.
