First Official Clip from James Gunn’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Starring Chris Pratt

GOTG Pratt 5Via MTV, Marvel and Disney studios have released the first official clip for writer/director James Gunn‘s highly anticipated addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy.  Starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, aka “Star-Lord,” the clip gives us an extended look at a sequence previously seen in the film’s trailer showing Quill stealing a floating orb.  Following the clip is a short sizzle reel of footage that has also been seen in the trailer – so nothing overly exciting here.  What is exciting though, is that Guardians of the Galaxy‘s release date is inching closer as we are fresh off the heels of The Winter Soldier‘s extremely successful release.  Hit the jump for more. First Trailer for Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

DOFP Hoult Jackman McAvoy - CopyThe first trailer for director Bryan Singer‘s return to the X-Men franchise and sequel to the critically acclaimed X-Men: First Class
has been released online.  X-Men: Days of Future Past features the biggest ensemble of X-Men characters that has ever been seen on film, brought together to fight a war for the species across two time periods.  The film’s story involves Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine traveling back in time to aid Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) in stopping the Sentinels, robots programmed to exterminate mutants.  Just as promised, the trailer is epic as it showcases the film’s sprawling cast of characters and hits home with Hans Zimmer’s (no surprise here) incredibly ominous score.  Hit the jump to check it out. First Trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Starring Chris Evans

Winter Soldier Stan 2The first trailer for directors Joe and Anthony Russo‘s upcoming addition to the Marvel cinematic universe has been released online.  Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the third installment for Marvel’s Phase Two initiative wherein Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) of Marvel’s Avengers face off against Cap’s former best friend, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).  Barnes, after surviving a near-death experience, is now known as the assassin, “The Winter Soldier.”  In my opinion, if done right, Joe and Anthony Russo can make The Winter Soldier the best solo film in the MCU.  The trailer showcases the moral conflict at the center of the film and some awesome visuals.  It also gives us our first look at Anthony Mackie in action as The Falcon and Robert Redford as World Security Council member Alexander Pierce.  Hit the jump to check out the all new trailer. The Avengers Sequel Officially Titled THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Age of Ultron Banner - CopySo, there you have it.  It’s no secret that Marvel and Disney have some very long term plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it was only natural to announce the title of the highly anticipated superhero team-up sequel at San Diego Comic-Con.  Director Joss Whedon took the stage in Hall H to wet the appetites of the MCU’s eager fan base.  A trailer comprised of quotes from the first film and the hammering of a metal object glowed red, revealing the helmet of Ultron and the title card: The Avengers: Age of Ultron.  What is even more interesting about this title choice is the fact that Whedon revealed that the film won’t follow the recent Age of Ultron comic storyline, nor will it include Henry Pym (aka Ant-Man).  Hit the jump to read more. Review: IRON MAN 3

Iron Man 3 Poster 2For the superheroes of Hollywood, 2008 is a year that will always be remembered.  The summer of ’08 gave us what many people consider to be the greatest film of the comic book genre, The Dark Knight, while Iron Man gave birth to the much adored Marvel Cinematic Universe.  DC’s Caped Crusader and Marvel’s billionaire playboy propelled the genre into heights never-before-seen – and look at how far we’ve come. First Trailer for THOR: THE DARK WORLD Starring Chris Hemsworth & Natalie Portman

The Dark World Chris Hemsworth 2The first trailer for the second installment in Phase Two of the Marvel cinematic universe has been released online.  Thor: The Dark World pits Thor (Chris Hemsworth) up against a shadowy enemy threatening to destroy Earth and the other Nine Realms.  I enjoyed the first film, but I feel like I wasn’t as overly impressed as some others were.  Cinematically, I think The Dark World looks better than its predecessor.  If you were a fan of the first film, you’ll really love this trailer.  Loki’s (Tom Hiddleston) introduction is also a very nice touch adding a bit of information on where we will see the God of Mischief in this post-Avengers film.  Hit the jump to take a look. First Official Images of Jamie Foxx & Dane DeHaan from THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

The Amazing Spider-Man Banner 2Director Marc Webb has been hard at work on production of the much anticipated sequel to his Spidey reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  Webb has been very active on social media when it comes to keeping fans up to speed on the shoot.  We’ve seen a flurry of amateur set photos – including a look at Jamie Foxx‘s villain, Electro.  Webb and star Dane DeHaan took to twitter the other day to give us the first official looks at Max Dillion (Fox) and Harry Osborne (DeHaan).  The image of Dillon is before his physical transformation into the luminous villain – a look that is drastically different from the comic iteration of the character.  Hit the jump to take a look.
