First Official Clip from James Gunn’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Starring Chris Pratt

GOTG Pratt 5Via MTV, Marvel and Disney studios have released the first official clip for writer/director James Gunn‘s highly anticipated addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy.  Starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, aka “Star-Lord,” the clip gives us an extended look at a sequence previously seen in the film’s trailer showing Quill stealing a floating orb.  Following the clip is a short sizzle reel of footage that has also been seen in the trailer – so nothing overly exciting here.  What is exciting though, is that Guardians of the Galaxy‘s release date is inching closer as we are fresh off the heels of The Winter Soldier‘s extremely successful release.  Hit the jump for more. Review: THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES

The Place Beyond the Pines Ryan Gosling - Copy

Writer-director Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines is a riveting and compelling drama that shows us why he is one of the most innovative, ambitious, and gifted new directors in all of filmmaking.  This wisely crafted epic is a gripping portrayal of the unbreakable bond between fathers and sons that approaches heights of Shakespearean artistry wrapped in the weight of a Greek tragedy. New Clip & Images from THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES Starring Ryan Gosling

The Place Beyond the Pines Ryan Gosling Eva Mendes - CopyWe’re just a couple of weeks away from the release of the Ryan Gosling led crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines.  With that, we’ve seen a bevy of clips and images.  The Derek Cianfrance helmed film made its premier back at TIFF in September 2012, where it received rave reviews – with many outlets predicting that it will finish as one of the top films of 2013.  The story centers on Luke (Gosling), a motorcycle stunt performer who learns that his former lover, Romina (Mendes), had given birth to his son during his absence.  Luke turns to crime in order to provide for his family, which subsequently runs him into ambitious rookie cop Avery Cross (Cooper).  The new clip features an encounter between Luke and Romina, and I absolutely adore the change in score towards the end of the clip.  Along with the clip are a handful of new images.  Hit the jump to check it out. First Trailer for THE HANGOVER PART III Promises an Epic Conclusion

The Hangover 3 Cooper Helms GalifianakisThe first trailer for Warner Bros. and director Todd Phillips’ humorous threequel has been released online today.  Like the poster for the insanely popular Harry Potter franchise, yesterday’s poster garners a tagline that reads “It All Ends.”  Today’s trailer, much like the conclusion to another wildly popular WB franchise (Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy), promises an “epic conclusion” to the trilogy.  Unlike Part II, it looks like Todd Phillips and WB are aiming at a more original story instead of just putting out the same story with different scenery.  Will the return of the Wolfpack to Las Vegas be as funny and outrageous as their first trip?  Hit the jump to take a look. First Poster for THE HANGOVER PART III Channels its Inner Harry Potter

The Hangover 3 Abbey RoadDetails on Todd Phillips’ conclusion to his wacky and raucous trilogy have been few and far between.  Warner Bros. has released the first poster for The Hangover Part III online today.  The brand new poster teases an epic face-off between Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) with a tagline that reads “It All Ends” – a hysterical and well placed reference to another wildly popular WB franchise, Harry Potter.  Also featured in the background of the poster is a shot of Las Vegas in ruins.  I initially thought that the idea to make a third film was silly, but if the new poster is any indication, Todd Phillips & co. are pulling out all the stops for the capper.  The film releases in less than three months, so keep an eye out for the first teaser trailer some time tomorrow.  Hit the jump to take a look at the poster.
