First Red Band Clip from Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s DON JON Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, & Tony Danza

Don Jon JGL Danza - CopyThe first red band clip for star Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s directorial debut, Don Jon, has been released online – and appropriately wishes us a Happy Father’s Day.  Formerly titled Don Jon’s Addiction, Don Jon saw extremely positive reactions and reviews from its premier at Sundance back in January.  Gordon-Levitt wrote, directed, and stars in the dramedy as Joseph Martello – a porn-addicted Jersey Shore type guido who tries to reform himself upon meeting Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson).  The clip provides some good laughs as it shows us the first time Joe brings Barbara home to meet the parents.  How about those accents?  And could there be a more appropriate song for this than Marky Marks Good Vibrations?  I don’t think so.  Hit the jump to take a look! Review: Lincoln

(This is a repost of my review published on on October 26th, 2012)

When one thinks of acclaimed director Steven Spielberg, images of extraterrestrials, ferocious dinosaurs, or the bloody beaches of Normandy may come to mind – but with his latest outing, Spielberg gives viewers a dramatic and gripping change of pace in this epic portrayal of America’s 16th President.  Lincoln, written by decorated playwright Tony Kushner, is the story of Abraham Lincoln’s tireless campaign to pass the 13th amendment which would result in the abolishment of slavery. Review: The Dark Knight Rises

(This is a repost from my review published on on July 21st, 2012)

For those of you who know me, you know that I have a borderline obsessive affinity for the Caped Crusader.  Whether it be the Bat symbols on my car, the countless number of t-shirts and apparel, or the permanent Bat-gear I sport on my upper right arm every day.  For those of you who don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself – my name is Patrick Dougherty, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve loved Batman.  When I dig through a drawer and blow the dust off a photo from 20 years ago, I see myself playing with Batman action figures or wearing Batman pajamas.  It has always been a part of my life.
