THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2’s Viral Site Teases Carnage

With the announcement of Sinister Six and Venom getting their own spin-offs, it’s no secret that the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise is part of a much larger cinematic universe.  Today, via The Daily Bugle, it was revealed that Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage, exists within that universe.  The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s viral site has given us a bevy of Easter eggs about the possibilities of what could make its way to film from the sprawling Spider-Man comic universe – if you haven’t given it a read, I suggest checking it out!  So as we lead up to the film’s release, I can’t wait to see what other stories surface and what secrets The Amazing Spider-Man 2 may hold on its reels.  Could this Eddie Brock written article hint at Carnage’s visit to the big screen?  Hit the jump to check out the full story from The Daily Bugle. Disney and Marvel Move Edgar Wright’s ANT-MAN up to July 31st, 2015

Ant-ManAt this point, it’s no secret that the 2015 film slate is chock full of highly anticipated blockbuster flicks – many of the superhero genre.  To make the summer more interesting, Disney and Marvel have announced that they plan to move director Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man up nearly four months from its initial November 6th, 2015 release date to July 31st, 2015.  Seeing as Warner Bros. plans to release the highly anticipated Batman vs. Superman film on July 17th, 2015, it would seem as if Marvel feels good enough about Ant-Man to pit the film against the World’s Finest team up.  Hit the jump to read more. Josh Brolin Confirms BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Rumors

Josh BrolinThe debate over the last two months between fanboys, fangirls, and well, the entire universe has centered upon the potential actors that will don the cape and cowl as the Dark Knight in the much anticipated Man of Steel sequel.  Now that Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder have announced that acclaimed actor/director Ben Affleck will be the next Caped Crusader, rumors about other actors approached for the role have come to light.  In a recent interview with the Huffington PostJosh Brolin confirmed the rumors surrounding his former potential involvement in the next film to extend the Batman film mythology.  Hit the jump to read more. The Avengers Sequel Officially Titled THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Age of Ultron Banner - CopySo, there you have it.  It’s no secret that Marvel and Disney have some very long term plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it was only natural to announce the title of the highly anticipated superhero team-up sequel at San Diego Comic-Con.  Director Joss Whedon took the stage in Hall H to wet the appetites of the MCU’s eager fan base.  A trailer comprised of quotes from the first film and the hammering of a metal object glowed red, revealing the helmet of Ultron and the title card: The Avengers: Age of Ultron.  What is even more interesting about this title choice is the fact that Whedon revealed that the film won’t follow the recent Age of Ultron comic storyline, nor will it include Henry Pym (aka Ant-Man).  Hit the jump to read more. Warner Bros. & Zack Snyder Announce Superman/Batman Movie

Batman Superman - CopyAt long last, and to the liking of many a fanboy across the world, at San Diego’s Comic-Con yesterday, Warner Bros. and Man of Steel director Zack Snyder officially announced the inevitable: Superman and Batman will simultaneously grace the big screen in 2015.  The news comes fresh off the heels of the great – and still ongoing – box office success of Snyder’s Man of Steel.  Henry Cavill will return to suit up as the Man of Steel, and the actor who will play Batman has yet to be cast.  Hit the jump to read more. Sony Announces THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 and 4 for 2016 and 2018

The Amazing Spider-Man Andrew Garfield - CopySo the trend of superhero films keeps on coming.  In the wake of Warner Bros.’ release of Man of Steel – and hopefully the beginning of a shared cinematic universe – over the weekend, Sony and Marvel have announced the continuation of their Spider-Man franchise.  Sony Pictures has announced that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 will hit theaters on June 10th, 2016 and May 4th, 2018.  The news that the franchise will expand beyond a trilogy – which seems to be the norm for large superhero franchises – is a welcome surprise for fans who enjoyed director Marc Webb’s adaptation last summer.  Hit the jump to read more. Universal Studios Puts JURASSIC PARK IV on Hold – Official Statement Released

Jurassic Park Banner - CopyBad news for Jurassic Park fans.  Universal Studios has released a statement today in regards to the newest installment of the much loved franchise, Jurassic Park IV.  After some tweets from crew members were tracked down by the folks over at  Ain’t It Cool News, it has now been officially confirmed that the film will be put on hold.  This news comes a week after director Colin Trevorrow tweeted out a picture of the film’s setting, Isla Nublar.  The studio claims that the film has been put on hold in order to ensure a more epic scale for its fourth installment.  Hit the jump to read more. CHRIST 2.0 Released Online

JesusNow I don’t usually do this, but I had to show some love and support for two of my long-time friends.  John Corbett, his brother K.C., and John Langley have teamed up for a little project for John’s Visual Concepts class at Towson University.  Titled Christ 2.0, the 10- minute short film saw various changes in its script during production, which K.C. went on to describe as “freestyle comedy”.  The film focuses on the lackluster second coming of Jesus (John) and a day in the life of his faithful personal assistant, Alex Anderson (K.C.).  There are plenty of laughs to be had in this one – maybe we could send it over to the Academy for a nomination in Best Live Action Short Film?  Hit the jump to take a look and offer your support! – and get a dose of the #NewTweetstament. General Zod & Superman of MAN OF STEEL Stand Tall on the Cover of Empire Magazine – Plus New Image

MAN OF STEELWarner Bros.’ Zack Snyder-directed Superman film, Man of Steel, is approaching faster than a speeding bullet.  I’m sure many of you, including myself, are still trying to wipe the drool from your mouths after the 3-minute trailer that premiered last week.  Man of Steel has already been the center piece of Empire Magazine’s summer preview issue, and now the publication will showcase two collector’s covers featuring Henry Cavill‘s Superman and Michael Shannon‘s General Zod on their June issue.  Early indications and reactions imply that the upcoming reboot is the film that Superman deserves, and lord knows we all hope it is.  Along with the Empire covers is a brand new image of Henry Cavill in full costume.  Hit the jump to take a look. New Viral Video for MAN OF STEEL Contains a Warning from General Zod

Man of Steel EW 2 - CopyA brand new viral video for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel has been released online today.  With the film’s release just under two months away, Warner Bros. has been turning up the heat on the marketing campaign for the much anticipated Superman flick.  The newest viral campaign features Michael Shannon‘s General Zod issuing a warning to Kal-El.  The clip actually served as a TV spot during tonight’s MTV Movie Awards, which was pretty damn cool.  This is the first time we’ve had the opportunity to hear Zod’s voice, and Shannon should be menacing as the film’s main villain.  Hit the jump to check out the video.
