New Trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s THE GREAT GATSBY – Plus New Character Posters

The Great Gatsby BannerThe holiday film lineup for 2012 is already packed with great films.  Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of the famous F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Great Gatsby, was initially slated for Christmas day.  Can you imagine that?  Django Unchained, Les Misérables, and The Great Gatsby would have hit theaters on the same day, what a merry Christmas that would’ve been.  The film was eventually pushed back by Warner Bros. “to ensure this unique film reaches the largest audience possible.”  The newest trailer showcases most of the headlining actors, and shows off some pretty unique visuals.  Along with the trailer are some brand new character posters.  Hit the jump to check them out.

The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, Isla Fisher, and Elizabeth Debicki and hits theaters in 3D on May 10th, 2013.

The Great Gatsby follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.
