First Trailer for José Padilha’s ROBOCOP Remake

RoboCop KinnamanThe first full-length trailer for director José Padilha’s upcoming RoboCop remake has been released online.  I’m too young to have a real connection with the original three RoboCop films, but it was something that I always enjoyed watching as a kid.  That being said, I think that’s the reason why I was impressed with the new trailer for the 2014 remake – as many fans are griping on the internet about the newest iteration of the franchise.  One thing that can be said is that the film is sure to offer fans plenty of nods and callbacks to the 1987 original while offering a new take and spin on the character.  Joel Kinnaman stars as Alex Murphy, a charismatic police officer in Detroit in the year 2028 who is offered the opportunity to become part man, part police officer after being critically injured in the line of duty.  Hit the jump to check out the trailer. New Trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE Starring Jennifer Lawrence & Josh Hutcherson

Catching Fire Teaser Poster - CopyThe second theatrical trailer for director Francis Lawrence‘s upcoming sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, has officially landed online.  While I am a firm believer that the first film wouldn’t have been anything more than average without star Jennifer Lawrence, the second trailer is extremely impressive, and so is the film’s top rate casting.  Much like the film’s teaser trailer, the second trailer highlights the hope that Katniss has spread throughout the districts of Panem.  The second installment pits Katniss against past winners of the famed Hunger Games in a competition that could change Panem forever.  I am very much looking forward to the sequel as the first film satisfied, but certainly left room for improvement – and who doesn’t love them some Jennifer Lawrence?  Hit the jump to take a look. New Trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn’s ONLY GOD FORGIVES Starring Ryan Gosling

Only God Forgives Ryan Gosling 2A brand new trailer for director Nicolas Winding Refn‘s Only God Forgives has been released online.  The film was met with some mixed reviews at the Cannes Film Festival a month ago, but hopefully some changes have been made to help the film play a little better.  Gosling stars as Julian, a man living in exile in Bangkok after killing a cop.  Julian runs a Thai boxing club as a front for a drug smuggling operation when things take a turn for the worse after his brother is murdered, and his mother instructs him to “raise hell“.  The film looks much more stylized than Gosling and Refn’s Drive, but it looks every bit as bad ass.  The trailer highlights much of the revenge storyline and Cliff Martinez’s score.  Hit the jump to take a look! First Trailer for Martin Scorsese’s THE WOLF OF WALL STREET Starring Leonardo DiCaprio

The Wolf of Wall Street Leonardo DiCaprio - CopySo greed is good again, huh?  The first trailer for Paramount Pictures Martin Scorsese directed The Wolf of Wall Street has been released online.  The film, based on the memoir of Jordan Belfort (who was convicted of crimes related to stock market manipulation), stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the young stockbroker indicted in 1998 to spend 22 months in jail after charges of money laundering and security fraud.  The trailer, appropriately played under Kanye West’s Black Skinhead off his Yeezus album, unexpectedly highlights much of the film’s lightheartedness and all-star cast- and some surprising dance moves provided by Leo.  The Wolf of Wall Street will be hitting theaters just in time to kick off the awards season, so hit the jump to check out the trailer! The Desolation of Smaug Martin Freeman - CopyHere you have it, the first trailer for part two of director Peter Jackson‘s second Middle Earth trilogy, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, has been released online.  The second film in the trilogy continues the perilous journey of Bilbo, Gandolf, and the Dwarves as they try and reclaim their gold from the terrible dragon, Smaug.  The trailer is visually impressive – I had a chance to see it in front of a Man of Steel screening tonight, wow – and gives us our first look at the return of Orlando Bloom and newcomers Evangeline Lilly and Luke Evans in action.  “But we haven’t even seen the dragon yet,” you say – until now.  While it’s only for a few seconds, the trailer gives us our first glimpse at the terrible Smaug, voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch – unfortunately we don’t get any dialogue.  Along with the new trailer are eight brand new high-res images taken from the trailer, and the film’s synopsis.  Hit the jump to take a look! Final Exclusive Trailer for MAN OF STEEL

Man of Steel Henry Cavill 8Much like the studio did with The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. and Nokia have teamed up to give fans the fifth and presumably final look at the much anticipated Superman film, Man of Steel.  I know my site has been extremely heavy with MOS content over the last few days, but I just can’t contain my excitement.  And let’s be honest, this is far and away the most anticipated film of the summer season.  Early reactions from screenings have been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m fortunate enough to have the opportunity to catch the film tonight.  We’re a week away from the film’s release, and this new trailer highlights Hans Zimmer’s rousing score and showcases a bevy of new footage.  Hit the jump to take a look! Man of Steel Henry Cavill 9The fourth and presumably final trailer for director Zack Snyder‘s eagerly anticipated upcoming Superman flick, Man of Steel, has been released online.  If you enjoyed the film’s third trailer, then lace up your boots and strap in because this one is flat out awesome.  Clocking in at just under two minutes, the new trailer focuses on the film’s main villain, General Zod (Michael Shannon).  Zod issues an ultimatum to Earth, and they will “suffer the consequences” if Superman (Henry Cavill) doesn’t turn himself in to Zod within 24 hours.  While previous trailers focused more on the more emotional and grounded elements of the film, this new trailer is jam-packed full of action, explosions, a mountain of skulls, and heat vision!  Along with the new trailer are a few new character posters, so hit the jump to check them out! Yet another trailer for director Guillermo del Toro‘s monster epic, Pacific Rim, has been released online.  The film pits humanity in a fight to save mankind when legions of monsters, known as Kaiju, rise from the sea and threaten the extinction of the human race.  In order to engage the Kaiju in combat, massive robots were erected, called Jaegers.  “In order to fight monsters, we created monsters of our own.”  The new trailer rehashes some footage from the WonderCon trailer from a few weeks ago and, yet again, boasts stunning visuals and impressive action sequences.  There is no doubt that Pacific Rim is meant for the biggest screen possible.  Hit the jump to take a look. Guillermo del Toro Unveils PACIFIC RIM WonderCon Footage

PACIFIC RIMThe response to the Pacific Rim footage screened by Warner Bros. and director Guillermo del Toro at WonderCon earlier this year was extremely positive.  Although the footage was meant to be screened only at WonderCon, del Toro and WB have decided to release the new trailer after fans were clamoring to see more of the monster epic.  The trailer boasts a great deal of new footage with immense amounts of action between the man-made jaegers and the monstrous Kaiju.  Along with new footage, the trailer also gives us our first look at Charlie Day‘s character.  Early reaction from those fortunate enough to have seen the film has been overwhelmingly positive, and the film really looks amazing from a visual standpoint.  Hit the jump to take a look.
