Three New Clips from Nicolas Winding Refn’s ONLY GOD FORGIVES Starring Ryan Gosling

Only God Forgives Ryan Gosling 2Three brand new clips from director Nicolas Winding Refn‘s heavily anticipated follow up to the critically acclaimed Drive, Only God Forgiveshave been released online.  With the film expected to make its premier at the Cannes Film Festival a few weeks from now, be on the lookout for a lot moreinformation regarding the latest team up between Refn and star Ryan Gosling.  Gosling stars as Julian, a man living in exile in Bangkok after killing a cop.  Julian runs a Thai boxing club as a front for a drug smuggling operation when things take a turn for the worse after his brother is murdered, and his mother instructs him to “raise hell.”  Aside from the trailers released for the film, these clips give us a great look at what to expect – like Drive, it looks like Gosling’s Julian will be very similar to the quiet, but violent Driver.  The clips suggest that the film’s dialogue may be a little more vulgar than Drive, but it’s ultra violence may go right in line with Refn’s previous work.  We only get a good look of Julian in action during the first clip, but Kristen Scott Thomas looks electrifying as Julian’s mother.  Hit the jump to take a look. CHRIST 2.0 Released Online

JesusNow I don’t usually do this, but I had to show some love and support for two of my long-time friends.  John Corbett, his brother K.C., and John Langley have teamed up for a little project for John’s Visual Concepts class at Towson University.  Titled Christ 2.0, the 10- minute short film saw various changes in its script during production, which K.C. went on to describe as “freestyle comedy”.  The film focuses on the lackluster second coming of Jesus (John) and a day in the life of his faithful personal assistant, Alex Anderson (K.C.).  There are plenty of laughs to be had in this one – maybe we could send it over to the Academy for a nomination in Best Live Action Short Film?  Hit the jump to take a look and offer your support! – and get a dose of the #NewTweetstament.
