First Official Clip from James Gunn’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Starring Chris Pratt

GOTG Pratt 5Via MTV, Marvel and Disney studios have released the first official clip for writer/director James Gunn‘s highly anticipated addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy.  Starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, aka “Star-Lord,” the clip gives us an extended look at a sequence previously seen in the film’s trailer showing Quill stealing a floating orb.  Following the clip is a short sizzle reel of footage that has also been seen in the trailer – so nothing overly exciting here.  What is exciting though, is that Guardians of the Galaxy‘s release date is inching closer as we are fresh off the heels of The Winter Soldier‘s extremely successful release.  Hit the jump for more. First Trailer for Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

DOFP Hoult Jackman McAvoy - CopyThe first trailer for director Bryan Singer‘s return to the X-Men franchise and sequel to the critically acclaimed X-Men: First Class
has been released online.  X-Men: Days of Future Past features the biggest ensemble of X-Men characters that has ever been seen on film, brought together to fight a war for the species across two time periods.  The film’s story involves Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine traveling back in time to aid Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) in stopping the Sentinels, robots programmed to exterminate mutants.  Just as promised, the trailer is epic as it showcases the film’s sprawling cast of characters and hits home with Hans Zimmer’s (no surprise here) incredibly ominous score.  Hit the jump to check it out. First Trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Starring Chris Evans

Winter Soldier Stan 2The first trailer for directors Joe and Anthony Russo‘s upcoming addition to the Marvel cinematic universe has been released online.  Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the third installment for Marvel’s Phase Two initiative wherein Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) of Marvel’s Avengers face off against Cap’s former best friend, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).  Barnes, after surviving a near-death experience, is now known as the assassin, “The Winter Soldier.”  In my opinion, if done right, Joe and Anthony Russo can make The Winter Soldier the best solo film in the MCU.  The trailer showcases the moral conflict at the center of the film and some awesome visuals.  It also gives us our first look at Anthony Mackie in action as The Falcon and Robert Redford as World Security Council member Alexander Pierce.  Hit the jump to check out the all new trailer. Two New Promo Posters from Spike Lee’s OLDBOY Remake Starring Josh Brolin

Oldboy Brolin 3 - CopyTwo new promotional posters for director Spike Lee‘s re-adaptation of South-Korean thriller Oldboy have made their way online via the film’s Facebook page this morning.  Both of the poster’s sarcastically highlight the amenities of the room that Joe Doucett (Josh Brolin) had lived in for 20 years under solitary confinement.  The film centers upon the vengeful mission one man sets out on after his unexpected and inexplicable release from being kidnapped and held in solitary confinement.  Spike Lee’s reimagining of the film is sure to have plenty of callbacks to its highly praised original, and judging by the film’s red-band trailer (featured below), there will be no shortage of blood.  Hit the jump to check out the posters and the film’s trailer. First Trailer for José Padilha’s ROBOCOP Remake

RoboCop KinnamanThe first full-length trailer for director José Padilha’s upcoming RoboCop remake has been released online.  I’m too young to have a real connection with the original three RoboCop films, but it was something that I always enjoyed watching as a kid.  That being said, I think that’s the reason why I was impressed with the new trailer for the 2014 remake – as many fans are griping on the internet about the newest iteration of the franchise.  One thing that can be said is that the film is sure to offer fans plenty of nods and callbacks to the 1987 original while offering a new take and spin on the character.  Joel Kinnaman stars as Alex Murphy, a charismatic police officer in Detroit in the year 2028 who is offered the opportunity to become part man, part police officer after being critically injured in the line of duty.  Hit the jump to check out the trailer.
