Universal Titles Jurassic Park 4 JURASSIC WORLD – Set Release on June 12th, 2015 – Plus Watch the Pitch Trailer

Jurassic World Banner - CopyEarlier this week, and to the liking of many fans, Universal announced the release date and official title for the forthcoming Jurassic Park sequel.  Formerly titled Jurassic Park 4, Universal revealed that Jurassic World will be roaring its way into theaters on June 12th, 2015.  The June 12th release date was appropriately and smartly announced just after the news that Disney would be pushing back Pirates of the Caribbean 5‘s release date from June 10th – so the weekend will likely belong to the dinosaurs.  Along with the announcement of the title change and release date, a pitch trailer allegedly presented to Stephen Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy by director Colin Trevorrow has found its way online.  Hit the jump to read more and check out the film’s exciting pitch trailer.   Read the rest of this entry


Universal Studios Puts JURASSIC PARK IV on Hold – Official Statement Released

Jurassic Park Banner - CopyBad news for Jurassic Park fans.  Universal Studios has released a statement today in regards to the newest installment of the much loved franchise, Jurassic Park IV.  After some tweets from crew members were tracked down by the folks over at  Ain’t It Cool News, it has now been officially confirmed that the film will be put on hold.  This news comes a week after director Colin Trevorrow tweeted out a picture of the film’s setting, Isla Nublar.  The studio claims that the film has been put on hold in order to ensure a more epic scale for its fourth installment.  Hit the jump to read more. First Trailer for 2 GUNS Starring Denzel Washington & Mark Wahlberg – Plus First Poster & New Images

2 Guns Denzel Washington Mark Wahlberg - CopyThe first trailer for Universal’s Baltasar Kormakur directed action drama 2 Guns has been released online today.  Starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, the film is based on a graphic novel with the same title as it follows two government operatives who are disavowed by their superiors and are forced to go on the run after a mission goes awry.  The cast looks great and the trailer showcases much of the film’s humor as Washington and Wahlberg look like they’ll be great together on screen.  The trailer also gives us a good look at Bill Paxton as the film’s villain.  In a summer filled with films that promise to be great, I’m very much looking forward to this one.  Along with the trailer are some new images and a new poster.  Hit the jump to take a look. First Red Band Trailer for KICK-ASS 2 Starring Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, & Jim Carrey – Plus New Poster & Images

Kick Ass 2 Johnson CarreyThe first red band trailer for the much anticipated Jeff Waldow directed sequel, Kick-Ass 2, has been released online.  The film revolves around legendary self-proclaimed superhero Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and how his efforts have inspired ordinary people to suit up and try to become superheroes as well.  After the death of his father, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), now known as “The Motherfucker,” sets out to amass his own army to become the world’s first super villain.  The trailer shows off some laughs with great action and performances we’ll see in the film – I’m particularly looking forward to Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes – and a nice Joker reference (“Wait ’til they get a load of me”).  Along with the trailer are six new images and a new poster.  Hit the jump to take a look at the trailer. First Poster for OBLIVION Starring Tom Cruise

Oblivion Preview CoverThe first poster for the Tom Cruise led sci-fi pic Oblivion has been officially released.  Cruise stars in the film as Jack Harper, one of the last drone repairmen stationed on Earth.  The film is being led by Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski and is from the producers of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  The poster is damn cool looking, featuring a “future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition.”  Hit the jump to check out the poster.
