First Official Clip from James Gunn’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Starring Chris Pratt

GOTG Pratt 5Via MTV, Marvel and Disney studios have released the first official clip for writer/director James Gunn‘s highly anticipated addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy.  Starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, aka “Star-Lord,” the clip gives us an extended look at a sequence previously seen in the film’s trailer showing Quill stealing a floating orb.  Following the clip is a short sizzle reel of footage that has also been seen in the trailer – so nothing overly exciting here.  What is exciting though, is that Guardians of the Galaxy‘s release date is inching closer as we are fresh off the heels of The Winter Soldier‘s extremely successful release.  Hit the jump for more. Chris Pratt Lands Lead Role for Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Chris Pratt Guardians of the Galaxy Banner 2After swirling casting rumors surrounding Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, it looks like the search has come to an exhausting end.  According to Deadline, Chris Pratt, who never appeared on any of the shortlists of actors who could potentially nab the job, will play the role of Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord.  Quill is an interplanetary policeman who was born to a human mother and an alien father and wears a suit that increases strength and durability while allowing him to travel through space.  Now that the lead role is filled, we might be seeing some other casting decisions very soon.  Hit the jump to read more. Marvel Going After Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Guardians of the Galaxy Banner 2Marvel hasn’t officially announced any casting on Guardians of the Galaxy, but the rumors have been swirling as of late.  Latest to be considered for roles in the film are some BIG names in comedy – Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler.  The film will no doubt have a comedic element to it given Marvel’s past films and director James Gunn’s style, so the talk of Carrey and Sandler shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.  Hit the jump to read more.
