First Official Clip from James Gunn’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Starring Chris Pratt

GOTG Pratt 5Via MTV, Marvel and Disney studios have released the first official clip for writer/director James Gunn‘s highly anticipated addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy.  Starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, aka “Star-Lord,” the clip gives us an extended look at a sequence previously seen in the film’s trailer showing Quill stealing a floating orb.  Following the clip is a short sizzle reel of footage that has also been seen in the trailer – so nothing overly exciting here.  What is exciting though, is that Guardians of the Galaxy‘s release date is inching closer as we are fresh off the heels of The Winter Soldier‘s extremely successful release.  Hit the jump for more. First Trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Starring Chris Evans

Winter Soldier Stan 2The first trailer for directors Joe and Anthony Russo‘s upcoming addition to the Marvel cinematic universe has been released online.  Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the third installment for Marvel’s Phase Two initiative wherein Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) of Marvel’s Avengers face off against Cap’s former best friend, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).  Barnes, after surviving a near-death experience, is now known as the assassin, “The Winter Soldier.”  In my opinion, if done right, Joe and Anthony Russo can make The Winter Soldier the best solo film in the MCU.  The trailer showcases the moral conflict at the center of the film and some awesome visuals.  It also gives us our first look at Anthony Mackie in action as The Falcon and Robert Redford as World Security Council member Alexander Pierce.  Hit the jump to check out the all new trailer. The Avengers Sequel Officially Titled THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Age of Ultron Banner - CopySo, there you have it.  It’s no secret that Marvel and Disney have some very long term plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it was only natural to announce the title of the highly anticipated superhero team-up sequel at San Diego Comic-Con.  Director Joss Whedon took the stage in Hall H to wet the appetites of the MCU’s eager fan base.  A trailer comprised of quotes from the first film and the hammering of a metal object glowed red, revealing the helmet of Ultron and the title card: The Avengers: Age of Ultron.  What is even more interesting about this title choice is the fact that Whedon revealed that the film won’t follow the recent Age of Ultron comic storyline, nor will it include Henry Pym (aka Ant-Man).  Hit the jump to read more. First Poster for THOR: THE DARK WORLD Starring Chris Hemsworth & Natalie Portman – Plus New Images

The Dark World Banner - CopyThe first poster for the second installment of Marvel’s Phase Two initiative, Thor: The Dark World, has been released online.  The poster has been released along with two new images from the film featuring star Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster.  The Dark World pits the Mighty Avenger up against an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand as our hero tries to save Earth and the other Nine Realms from their imminent doom.  The poster, showing Thor surrounded by rain and lightning as he wields his mighty hammer, is pretty badass.  The images are rather underwhelming, but it’s a good setup for the trailer that is supposed to be released some time this week.  Hit the jump to take a look!  Read the rest of this entry
