Sony Announces THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 and 4 for 2016 and 2018
So the trend of superhero films keeps on coming. In the wake of Warner Bros.’ release of Man of Steel – and hopefully the beginning of a shared cinematic universe – over the weekend, Sony and Marvel have announced the continuation of their Spider-Man franchise. Sony Pictures has announced that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 will hit theaters on June 10th, 2016 and May 4th, 2018. The news that the franchise will expand beyond a trilogy – which seems to be the norm for large superhero franchises – is a welcome surprise for fans who enjoyed director Marc Webb’s adaptation last summer. First Official Images of Jamie Foxx & Dane DeHaan from THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
Director Marc Webb has been hard at work on production of the much anticipated sequel to his Spidey reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Webb has been very active on social media when it comes to keeping fans up to speed on the shoot. We’ve seen a flurry of amateur set photos – including a look at Jamie Foxx‘s villain, Electro. Webb and star Dane DeHaan took to twitter the other day to give us the first official looks at Max Dillion (Fox) and Harry Osborne (DeHaan). The image of Dillon is before his physical transformation into the luminous villain – a look that is drastically different from the comic iteration of the character. Hit the jump to take a look. First Look at Spidey’s New Suit from THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 – Plus New Set Photos
While production has begun on Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, we have been seeing a number of images tweeted out by the director himself to update fans on the film. This morning fans were treated with the first look at Spidey’s new suit that we’ll see in action next year. The suit is more traditional than its predecessor and looks more in line with Raimi’s Spider-Man with a hint of Ultimate Spider-Man – which makes it true to the suit we have seen throughout the comics. Along with the newest production still are some set photos. Hit the jump to take a look. Read the rest of this entry
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Begins Filming – New Synopsis Revealed
According to director Marc Webb, production on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is officially underway. I’m a big fan of the Raimi franchise, although I felt that Tobey Maguire was never right for the role, and I really felt that The Amazing Spider-Man was a great kick-start to what could be another great franchise. As in the first movie, the casting for TASM2 is fantastic. Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Sally Field return while welcoming giant newcomers Jaime Foxx, Paul Giamatti, and Colm Feore. Along with the beginning of production, the synopsis for the film has been released. Hit the jump to read the press release. Read the rest of this entry
Review: The Amazing Spider-Man
(This is a repost from my Tumblr page on July 3rd, 2012)
It has been what seems like a short five years since we last saw Spider-Man on the big screen. Director Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man franchise was widely regarded as one of the great franchises in film history. Then the impossible to forget Spider-Man 3 reared its ugly head – impossible to forget only because Spider-Man 3 is infamous for being arguably one of the most disappointing films of the last decade.
