Reactions From Early MAN OF STEEL Screenings are Overwhelmingly Positive
As we sit and try to wait patiently for the next four months in anticipation of the release of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, we have some exciting news that may make us a little more impatient. The film is currently in the process of being screened for some lucky individuals at the Warner Bros. lot, and early reactions suggest that this is the film that The Last Son of Krypton deserves. There have been many concerns following the trailers that the film will be too dark and grim with too much influence from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. The good folks over at JoBlo say that one extremely reliable source tells us to have no fear. Hit the jump to read more!
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, and Diane Lane and hits theaters next summer in IMAX 3D on June 14th, 2013.
JoBlo has offered up some information from an unnamed source earlier today, whom they “know and trust 100%.” The source sent over some reactions from the screening that tried to put many fans’ concerns to rest.
– Imagine a Nolan story with Snyder effects/action.
– It’s the best movie of the year.
– There’s TONS of action with Superman kicking all kinds of ass in his suit.
– The cape is CG’d most of the time so it can look awesome.
– They have intentionally left out most of the the Super action in trailers to save it.
– It’s not nearly as dour and serious as the trailers suggest.
– The movie is complete, minus the 3D post-conversion, which is currently taking place.
Now if that can’t get you excited for June 14th, I don’t know what can! You had me at, “a Nolan story with Snyder effects/action.” Another bold statement that can be seen in that list is that it’s “the best movie of the year.” It’s still very early in the year, so only time will tell. A lot of this reaction sounds similar to reactions from initial TDKR screenings.
There still isn’t any word on when we will see the next trailer for the film, but the source does suggest that much of the action has been intentionally left out of the first two trailers in order to save it for the film. The source also notes that the film isn’t nearly as grim as the trailers would lead you to believe, which is also good news. A serious and realistic take on the character is essential, but it’s good to not try and recreate The Dark Knight.
Keep in mind that this is only one person’s opinion, but as we get closer to the film’s June release date, know that we’ll be hearing more news and reactions regarding future screenings! And hopefully June 14th reaches us faster than a speeding bullet.
