85th Academy Awards – ARGO Wins Best Picture – LIFE OF PI Wins 4 Oscars

Olly Moss Oscar BannerAfter sitting back and taking a look at all of the categories and nominations, the wealth of outstanding work recognized at last night’s 85th Academy Awards is simply breathtaking.  This last year in film saw no clear awards front runner because of its unbelievable quantity of fantastic films – eight other Best Picture nominees who could have won in almost any other year, five Best Actor nominees who could deserve a time share on the award, a Best Actress category that consisted both the oldest and youngest nominees ever, the list goes on.  Ben Affleck’s Argo took home the biggest award of the night, while Ang Lee reeled in Best Director for his unforgettable work on Life of Pi – Life of Pi also won for Best Cinematography, Best Score, and Best Visual Effects.  Other highlights include Daniel Day-Lewis’ win for Best Actor, Jennifer Lawrence earning the Oscar for her work in Silver Linings Playbook,  and a goose-bump inducing performance by the cast of Les Misérables.  Hit the jump to see all of this year’s winners.
