BAFTA Winners Announced – ARGO Wins Best Film and Best Director

BAFTABen Affleck and his critically acclaimed film Argo continue to pull in all the big awards.  The 2013 British Academy of Film and Television Awards were given out two nights ago, and it’s starting to look like Argo’s Best Picture victory later this month at the Oscars is inevitable.  Argo reeled in both Best Film and Best Director just like it did at the Golden Globes – Argo also took home Best Ensemble at the SAG Awards.  As we get closer to the Oscars, the question on many minds is whether or not Argo can be the first film since 1989 to win Best Picture without a Best Director nomination.  As far as the rest of the BAFTA’s go, Les Misérables won the most awards on the night (four), and the majority of the categories didn’t provide many surprises.  Hit the jump to check out the full list of winners.

  1. It’s great seeing Skyfall beating Les Mis for that award. Nothing against the musical but Skyfall was fantastic!
