SAG Award Winners Announced – ARGO Wins Best Picture Ensemble

SAG AwardsThe winners of the 19th Screen Actors Guild Awards are in, and Argo takes home the top prize yet again.  Last night, at the Producers Guild AwardsArgo won Best Picture.  By winning the award tonight, Argo can now be considered a serious contender for Best Picture at next month’s Academy Awards.  It’s been 23 years since Driving Miss Daisy won the Oscar for Best picture, and that was the last time a film has won the award without a Best Director nomination.  Could Ben Affleck’s Argo be the first film since 1989 to do the same?  I think there is a serious possibility.  Other notable winners: Daniel Day-Lewis for Best Actor, Jennifer Lawrence for Best Female Actor, and Tommy Lee Jones and Anne Hathaway took home awards for supporting roles.  Hit the jump for the full list of nominations and winners.
