Marvel Going After Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
Marvel hasn’t officially announced any casting on Guardians of the Galaxy, but the rumors have been swirling as of late. Latest to be considered for roles in the film are some BIG names in comedy – Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler. The film will no doubt have a comedic element to it given Marvel’s past films and director James Gunn’s style, so the talk of Carrey and Sandler shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Hit the jump to read more.
This news comes thanks to the folks over at the always reliable Latino Review. Reports have shown that Marvel has been considering actors like Jim Sturgess, John Krasinski, Wes Bentley, Cam Gigandet, and Chris Lowell for the role of Star Lord. As for what roles Carrey and Sandler are linked to, no one is sure yet. Marvel has requested the availability for the actors (Carrey, Sandler), so don’t take this as concrete evidence that they’re front-runners for roles, but who knows!? We’ll see how this all plays out as we get closer to the film beginning production this summer.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be released in 3D on August 1st, 2014.
