First Poster For J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness
It was announced a few weeks ago that movie-goers would be able to catch a glimpse of the next installment in the Star Trek franchise, Star Trek Into Darkness, in front of select IMAX screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in two weeks – the trailer will be attached to regular screenings of The Hobbit. Today, we are treated to the first poster for the film. Featuring what appears to be Benedict Cumberbatch’s character standing under the Enterprise logo’d ruins of a building, the poster looks eerily familiar to the teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises. Hit the jump to check out the new poster!
Star Trek Into Darkness is directed by J.J. Abrams, written by Damon Lindelof, Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman, stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Alice Eve, and Benedict Cumberbatch and opens in IMAX 3D on May 17th, 2013.
In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
